The next day, Ike gets fired by his publisher (and former wife), because he went too far and faked the facts, which real journalists don’t do. Ike’s only way back into the business now is to do a fact-based report on Maggie and her upcoming fourth wedding attempt, which Ike predicts to fail again. So, as he circles her like a vulture his prey-to-be, Maggie’s opinion of Ike sinks below zero. Not only is Ike waiting for her to fail again but the whole town is poking fun at Maggie about her mistakes. But that is a point which Ike doesn’t like.

Told they can’t dance, play or sing, and that they must sacrifice themselves to the fields on their 18th birthdays, some of the children attempt escape, but bloodthirsty Malachai hunts them down. A young couple on a cross-country trip finds a dead youngster in the road, bringing him into what appears to be a deserted town, they befriend his frightened sister. She tries to explain the evil reign of terror, but the couple soon experiences it for themselves. Live adults aren’t welcome in Gatlin, so they do all they can to escape the possessed town alive.

After staging a fake suicide, Veronica goes undercover to stop J.D., who’s gone over the edge with his plan to blow-up the school, making it look like a mass suicide pact.
